In the book of Acts in scripture, what made the Church radical, counter cultural and attractive was the community of faith it was made up of and their oneness. It was understood that the Church wasn’t a building. It wasn’t an event or a service. It wasn’t an exclusive social club. It wasn’t even the right denomination with the right theology. It was understood that individually we are God’s temple and that the Spirit resides in us. It was understood that WE believers collectively are the Church. It’s wasn’t something you attended. It was WHO you were and it was transforming! We were never created to function in our own power. Jesus did not intend for our spiritual lives to be lived in silos, but for His Church to do life together.
